Contractors will be able to explore how iMC technology can be applied to their specific applications and learn what help is available through the specialized iMC support resources Columbus Equipment Company offers. Presenters will review the evolution of automation and machine intelligence and discuss the intelligence platforms behind Komatsu’s iMC machines. One focus of the event will be Komatsu’s large excavators—the PC490LCi-11 and PC360LCi-11—that can get on grade without the need for a bulldozer. Attendees will also see Komatsu’s family of intelligent dozers that can take a project from rough grading to finish grade while maximizing blade load and reducing the number of passes. Attendees will get a hands-on demo of some Komatsu iMC machines at the Columbus Equipment Company proving ground. “You’ll be able to push dirt, spread stone, dig storm lines, pull slopes, and see the machines in action in real-world applications,” Fenster said. Other highlights planned for the iMC Experience include: ∙ A review of the capabilities of KOMTRAX, Komatsu’s telematics platform, presented by Goran Zeravica, Komatsu Distributor Development Manager. ∙ A demonstration of how drones are revolutionizing the site-development process. “We sponsored a similar event last year, and at least 90 percent of attendees have purchased or rented iMC equipment since then,” Fenster noted. “The event really opened eyes as to the capabilities of intelligent machine control.” He also uses the event to do some myth-busting, dispelling misconceptions about iMC machines, and to show how easily Komatsu’s intelligent machine control system integrates with a Trimble GPS environment. The iMC Experience will take place on Aug. 30 and again on Oct. 25 at Columbus Equipment Company’s corporate headquarters, 2323 Performance Way, Columbus. The event is geared toward principals, job foremen, operators, GPS/survey point personnel, and equipment managers. There is no cost to attend the iMC Experience, and lunch is provided. Space is limited, reserve your spot today by signing up at columbusequipment.com/iMCregistration.
