Columbus Equipment Company is currently recruiting motivated, qualified individuals into the company's intensive Technician Internship Program. The paid, 12-month program develops recent technical school graduates into skilled and professional heavy-equipment technicians for immediate placement into the industry.

The Technician Internship Program consists of two six-month semesters, covering a 10-module curriculum under the direct supervision of a Columbus Equipment Company Senior Technician Mentor (STM). Two-weeks per month is spent on classroom training, with the remaining two weeks spent on field work with an STM. Each intern is evaluated at the mid-point and end of each semester.

  • Training on a wide variety of industry-leading manufacturer brands including: Komatsu, Link-Belt, Atlas Copco, Dynapac, Morbark, Komptech and McCloskey.
  • Attainment of Shop Classification III union certification, and CDL training, upon graduation.
  • Opportunity to advance to Shop Classification I or Field Service Classification within 3 years of graduation.
  • $1,000 interest-free line of credit for tool purchases (repaid via payroll deduction)
  • Scholarships available to qualifying candidates.
